7 tracks of functional electronica with a nod towards Boards of Canada, with whom Christopher Horne, being Christ.'s real name, used to hang around with in the Hexagon Sun collective.
The beatier tracks on the first side are largely uninteresting, being mostly built around preset loops that I remember from things I used to own, back in the day. The shorter tracks are the most obviously Boards-of-Canada-like , especially the title track, which could have come from Geogaddi. Some lovely slow tones overlaid, and a really, really slowed down vocal sample. Almost sinister, but not quite.
The B-side continues in much the same vein, never really leaving the arena of early-2000s nostalgic-sounding electronic music. B2 opens with a sample of some newsreader or other asking about 'squeak-and-gibber' electronic music, which I think I'd prefer to the languid and inoffensive stuff on display here.
In a radical departure from normal service, I attempted to show the record playing 'as it happens' in the picture above. Anything to liven it up a bit really, I was getting pretty bored by the end.
