Some records exist in a record collection, whilst also being in a state of not-existing in a record collection.
It's not like I don't remember why I bought the record - at the time I bought a lot of Chemikal Underground stuff. I even owned one of their much-admired record bags (even more closely admired by Dublin Airport security on one memorable occasion [a similar tale is on the CU website: http://shop.chemikal.co.uk/acatalog/CHEM014.html] although I escaped a full-body search).
I also very much like Hood, responsible for the opening remix on Side B.
However, for some peculiar reason, I am unable to listen to this. Which is not to say I haven't listened to it.
I put the record on.
At the end of Side A I turn the record over.
At the end of Side B I put the record away.
And I have done that a number of times recently.
I cannot tell you how many times, and likewise I cannot really tell you what this record sounds like.
I have listened to it, and yet I have not listened to it.
It exists in my record collection.
I have never been much of a fan of The Wedding Present, for that matter.
