So, I went down to Avalanche Records for 9.30 this morning, and couldn't get in for the queue. A friend was already there, and it turned out they hadn't got any of the EMI stuff anyways, so we went for a coffee.
On the way back down Cockburn Street, we popped in to Underground Solushn, just on the off chance. Pete managed to get the Pet Shop Boys 7" he was after, but they were out of the Blur single (not surprisingly it's already on eBay). I did, however, get my grubby mitts on the Hot Chip/Bonnie Prince Billy 7" and the Nick Cave Mercy Seat white vinyl 12". So huzzah for that and éclair for everyone.
Whilst I was there, the helpful assistant mentioned it was 10% off everything else today, being a special occasion, so I also got MGMT's new album (produced by Sonic Boom) and the last Animal Collective single Brothersport. All in all, a grand day out.

Apologies for the lack of posting recently. The Dig, Lazarus Dig!!! review is in the pipeline.
I've actually been spending rather a lot of time selling CDs on Ebay, and with the proceeds, I intend to splurge a bit at the forthcoming Record Store Day on 17th April.
Last year, I managed to get the Tom Waits 7", but spectacularly missed the point by buying it online from Action Records (the point being you should go to your local record store to spend your money). So a week on Saturday I will visit Avalanche in Edinburgh for the first time in a couple of years, and see what they've got.
