I'm afraid I won't have time to do a Christmas mix this year, so this post will have to do.
I have, in the past, sourced a lot of Christmas music from Cheerful Earful, so I recommend you do this too.
If I were to do a mix, I would have included Eid Ma Clack Shaw from Bill Callahan's excellent Sometimes I Wish We Were An Eagle. The mp3 of this is still up at Stereogum, and here is my review of the record.
I would also have included a tune by Rachel Unthank and the Winterset, Tar Barrel In Dale. I first heard this in December 2008 on a Radcliffe & Maconie radio show, where the band had recorded it in session. I cheekily ripped that part of the show, and here it is:
Things have slowed down a little at the moment, review-wise, but should pick up in the sobriety of the new year. But I'll be moving house at the end of January, so anticipate another lull then.
