A good version of I Had A Dream, Joe, but not for me, better than the album version. The organ is not as full-sounding and the stress of touring seems to have taken its toll on Nick's voice.
I guess if you had to choose a second single from Henry's Dream to try and capitalise on the unexpected success of Straight to You, then this would have to be the one. It would be a brave record company that put out Christina the Astonishing. It's still a weird song though, nightmarish rather then dreamy. A darkly moody number, angry and accusing.
The official video for the single, linked to below, looks like it should be live, but is actually the studio version of the song playing over some hastily cobbled together live footage. It at least gives you some idea of The Bad Seeds live experience.
The version of The Good Son is different to the one released on Live Seeds, although both are from the same tour, which makes the single worth tracking down as this version of the song is not, to my knowledge, available anywhere else. And it is a damn fine song.
