The files below are compressed mp3 versions of wav files I made from cassette tapes of a mono-broadcast radio show from back in about 1997. I'm guessing at the date because my Abacus paperback of David Foster Wallace's Infinite Jest was published in that year, and I'm pretty sure I did the radio show before I finished the book.
One of the characters in that book, Madame Psychosis, has a late night radio show where she reads out various things over a soundtrack described as the sound of someone's mind falling apart. I had a late night radio show at the time, on Leeds Student Radio, and this was my attempt at recreating the show described in the book, with my friend Jess reading stuff out. The texts used were various old copies of the Fortean Times and New Scientist magazines, old dictionaries and textbooks, and whatever else I had lying around. The music was all ambient stuff, with some other noises thrown around over the top, and mostly played at minus 8. Main featured a lot.
Anyway, I'm hosting them here for want of somewhere else to put them, you might like them, you might not.
