No special freebies with this single, unlike the last, but it's a cracking record nevertheless. This comes at the creative peak of Add n to (x)'s career, in the years 1999 - 2000 which saw the magnificent Avant Hard and the not-quite-as-fabulous-but-still-good Add Insult to Injury albums released. They also put out the Revenge of the Black Regent single, containing my all time favourite track (Title & Goddamn Funkiness categories) The March of Pure Mathematical Evil That Ends and Results in War.
Back to Plug Me In though. Imagine a new Carry On film, set in the future. Carry on Robots, or Carry on Doctor Who maybe? This would be on the soundtrack. There is no better song I know of about vibrators, and I think that tells you all you need to know. There is also a rather saucy video out there, but this being a family show, I'll leave it to you to track down.
Other tracks are the funky synth workout Hey Double Double, with what appear to be children's voices put through the robotic voice thing Add n to (x) always use . Technically that's still on the A-side, the B-side being given over to Murray's Space Shoes, a disco remix of Plug Me In. I was pondering the trademarks of the disco sound for this post, and my extensive research (this article) leads me to believe that anything with a four-four beat at around 120bpm released during a particular period qualifies. This track has the requisite beat, some cheesy hand-claps, and the main lyrics sampled and repeated at appropriate points for effect. This technically puts it closer to Funky House, but let's not get into a whole genre thing... that's one of the reasons the records are alphabetical in the first place.
Recommendation - buy Avant Hard. This isn't on it, but don't let that stop you.

Plug Me In by Add n to (x) - Lyrics, because people seem to be looking for them:
I've got two machines
Doo doo doo doo doo {hereafter doo x 5}
I just plug them in
Doo x 5
They are my best friends
Doo x 5
{lots of doo-ing going on here, and for the rest of the song}
Plug me in, plug me in doo doo d-doo
You just plug me in
I just plug them in
{And so on and so forth, that's really all there is to it.There is a rumour that the chorus mutates to "Fuck Me In", but I have yet to find adequate corroboration for this}
